In today's culture those who have adopted a tolerance worldview believe that if they disagree with your words, actions, or what they think you believe, they must fight to prevent you from even expressing your convictions, let alone live them out. They believe that "tolerance" is their way of "loving," by trying to be the voice of the unheard while snuffing out the voices of so many people who do not coincide with their version of "love."
Our culture is right about the fact that this world does need more love, but it needs the love of 1 Corinthians 13,
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Tolerance is a poor substitute for actual love.
