The focus of the curriculum is to train participants (Trainees) to serve as Pregnancy Decision Coaches at your center. A Pregnancy Decision Coach is a pregnancy center worker who meets with women or men who are making pregnancy decisions, specifically those people who are considering abortion.
Recognizing that the pregnant woman is the ultimate decision maker in a pregnancy decision, the curriculum focuses on serving her well. Yet, concepts presented are transferable to serving men, and also applicable to training both male and female Pregnancy Decision Coaches.
The curriculum is laser-focused on the skills needed to help those most at risk for experiencing abortion make wise and informed decisions regarding their pregnancies and futures.

Compassion Hope & Help training manual
This is an excellent tool for those new to being a client advocate. The older training was good but this is kicked up a notch. It covers lots of what new CA's need to know as well as gives a trainer a framework to teach women how to apply those principles in their centers. The exercises are so good for those learning to be CA's. I think p. 33, section 2.4, third paragraph from the top should possibly state "her feeling (or empathic) self" instead of "(or emphatic)". The word "emphatic" is also in the trainer's manual on p. 63 to refer to the same thing. I may be misunderstanding the meaning there, not sure. On p. 129, section 7.6, there are some examples of specific, constructive feedback. I do not feel comfortable using any of those examples. How I feel as a client advocate is really beside the point. Giving specific feedback is good but I feel it must point to the client and not focus on the client advocate. We use this training and love it. Those are the things that stand out to me. It gets a five-star rating because it is top notch training! Thank you for putting this together.

Compassion, Hope and Help
This resource tool provides great information for training client advocates in pregnancy resource centers. I did not give it five stars due to the material not having a DVD training for the entire manual that goes with it. DVDs or web based videos/webinars are very needed to allow the training to be utilized when group training is not feasible. Care Net has provided great information but at our Centers we need the flexibility of DVD training. Thank you.
